After 15 impactful years at Dean College, The Dean of Students, Dave Drucker, is heading into an exciting new chapter.
In a recent announcement on LinkedIn, Drucker stated, “I’m thrilled to share that I will be joining Lander University as the Dean of Students starting April 1.” Reflecting on his time at Dean, he expressed deep gratitude for the relationships and growth he experienced, adding that he and his family are “enthusiastically embracing” their move south and the opportunities ahead.
During his time at Dean College, Drucker became a cornerstone of the campus community, known not only for his leadership but for the energy and care he brought to every interaction. Even during the busy transition of preparing for his move, he still took time out of his day to speak with The Dean Daily and reflect on his experience. When asked how Dean shaped his leadership style, he emphasized the mentors and colleagues who guided him along the way, as well as the increasing responsibilities that helped build his confidence to lead, make meaningful decisions, and mentor the next generation of professionals.
Drucker’s impact can be seen across campus in both large initiatives and everyday moments. He highlighted several accomplishments he’s most proud of, including expanding transportation access for students through our GATRA shuttle service, collaborating with Sodexo Dining Services to enhance flexible dining options like Boomers Bucks and the U Cook Station, and helping create Bulldog Beginnings to welcome new students. At the core of all these efforts was the simple mission of improving the student experience.
Beyond programs and policies, Drucker’s legacy is rooted in the relationships he has built. “This has fueled me every day,” he said, reflecting on his interactions with students. Whether he was mentoring, celebrating achievements, or helping students navigate challenges, he consistently showed up with enthusiasm and authenticity. His presence extended far beyond the office by hosting student leaders at his home, announcing sporting games, teaching as an adjunct professor, and even stepping on stage during a production of Grease.

Those who worked closely with Drucker echo that same sentiment. Jessica Monteiro, Director of Student Accounts & Customer Service, shared, “It has been a privilege to work with Dave for the past 13 years… not even a historic pandemic or blizzard were a match for Dave’s contagious positivity and smile.” She added that from greeting students with high-fives to energizing meetings with his signature humor, “He will be deeply missed.”
Professor John Rooke also spoke to Drucker’s daily impact, describing him as “always engaging, eager to help… quick with his wit and knowledge of sports,” and someone whose
presence on campus will be hard to replace because of the consistent positivity and genuine care he brought to the community.
From the student perspective, his influence was just as strong, if not stronger. As Student Government Association President, Paige Langston noted, Drucker prioritized student voices by meeting weekly to listen, advocate, and build meaningful connections. “He created connections with the SGA in order to be an advocate for the students,” she said, highlighting his commitment to ensuring every student felt heard and supported.
As Drucker prepares to begin his role at Lander University, he leaves behind a legacy defined by connection, innovation, and unwavering positivity. His final message to students captures the spirit he brought to Dean: “It has been an honor to hold the role of Dean of Students, and I wish all Bulldogs unparalleled success. Always think about your brand and what will define your legacy at Dean. Go Bulldogs!”
