Everyone's favorite time of the year is right around the corner, and every year the professional sports teams in the Boston, Massachusetts area celebrates and give back to the community. Read about how the New England Patriots give back to the community during the holiday season.
According to the official Patriots website, “Since purchasing the team in 1994, the Kraft family and the New England Patriots have entertained hundreds of children from Salvation Army centers throughout Massachusetts for a night of holiday festivities at the Children's Holiday Party”.
CBS Boston reported that the New England Patriots Foundation and Goodwill distributed 200 Thanksgiving food baskets this last Thanksgiving. The Patriots Foundation has many traditions and one of the longest lasting traditions to date is the Annual Toy Drive.

Patriots' rookie kicker Andy Borregales teamed up with Heartwing Center this Thanksgiving for a turkey distribution in Turner Falls, in Montague, Massachusetts. Borregales provided free turkeys and Thanksgiving meal fixings to the families in that community.
Other well-known Patriots who held their own Thanksgiving food drives in the past were Christian Barmore, Lawrence Guy, and Justin Bethel.
Gifts from Gridiron is another long-standing Holiday tradition for the Patriot Foundation. Players and their families will take children often to a Bass Pro Shop and let them go on a shopping spree.
Other ways the Patriots give back to the fans and community include wearing cleats for a cause, player-designed merchandise to local hospitals, and the license plate programs sold in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire with all proceeds going to charities in those respective states.
Every Dean student's favorite time of the year, winter break, has started. The 11-2 Patriots will be sure to provide for the families on and off the field.
