A Guide to Student Discounts

Around Dean College there is a mix of fast food restaurants and local classics. Although only some of them offer student discounts. Here is a Dean Daily rundown of what to expect from each place around campus.

Starting off with a mix of big franchises and local shops, Piezoni’s, Burger King, Subway, and the Rome Restaurant all offer a 10% discount if you bring your student ID. The biggest discount, however, is Kings Brick Oven Pizza & Pub with a huge 30% discount with your student ID. All these places offer a more affordable price to their food to make your wallet not hurt as much.

Other restaurants do not have student discounts but do offer deals on certain days. Santa Fe Burrito Grill offers a $5.49 deal every Monday for pork, chicken, or veggie burritos. The Dean Daily interviewed students around campus, and some have a weekly tradition called Santa Fe Mondays. Another restaurant that offers something other than a direct discount is Chipotle. For their deals, you need to join their Chipotle U rewards program. When you join, you get 1000 free points and gain 12 points per dollar spent instead of 10 points per dollar regularly.

Domino’s also does not have a student discount, but they consistently post online coupons to save money when they are sent out. Locally, Central Pizza next to the 7/11 only takes Boomer Bucks from Dean College but does not offer a direct sale for students. Another way to get discounts is to join Unidays, this allows students to get discounts on over 300 different brands. Unfortunately, many restaurants in the area do not offer anything. These include, Teddy Gallagher’s Irish Pub, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Papa Gino’s, The 99 Restaurant, and Taco Bell.

Knowing where the cheapest food options are around is crucial for college students. Dean College has a lot of options for student discounts within walking distance of the campus. So, if you are looking for something else for a meal, go to one of these venues without emptying your wallet.
