Dean College: A Calendar Full of Community and Creativity

It is an exciting time to be a Bulldog! The Dean College campus is always buzzing with activity, and the upcoming months are no exception. From the unprecedented playoff run of the Women’s Field Hockey team on Wednesday to a much-anticipated campus-wide Family Feud game on Saturday, the energy is high. These upcoming events are a perfect reflection of what Dean is all about: striving for excellence, supporting one another, and always making time to laugh.
To start, the Field Hockey Team was back in action. The Dean College community rejoiced in victory on Wednesday, November 5, as the #1 Dean College Women's Field Hockey team defeated #4 New England College in the GNAC Semifinal game on Wednesday on Grant Field! This important victory has propelled the Bulldogs to the GNAC Championship and has now been etched in Dean College NCAA history. With a top seed and the home field advantage in the semifinals, the Bulldogs have now guaranteed that the entire championship tournament will run through Franklin as the first women's program in Dean history to host all playoff matches. From a surprising #8 seed to the playoffs just last year, the Bulldogs have had an amazing season that will culminate in the GNAC Championship game on Saturday, November 8th.
Are you interested in an evening of laughing, friendly competition, and free food? If so, you should join us this Saturday, November 8th from 7 to 9 pm in the Student Atrium! SALD will host a special campus version of Family Feud, the popular television game show! This event is always a fun event and a great way to engage students to come together with another student organization, a dorm floor, or a group of friends to test their knowledge of what "the survey says" and compete for bragging rights on campus. Whether you are competing with a student organization, residence hall or floor, or just a group of friends, we hope you can make it to help celebrate another fun, light-hearted evening of community, eating some good food, and having fun with SALD!
Students who are looking to Connect, Explore and Launch their future should put the Opportunities Fair 2025 on their calendar for the afternoon of Thursday, November 13th from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Dr. Paula M. Rooney Student Center. The event is a comprehensive event, divided into two important parts: between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm students can walk the tables and meet employers (local and regional), Dean alumni, graduate school admissions staff, study away programs, and others. After the main fair, students can practice their pitch, learn more about networking, and gain confidence during Networking Hour from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Students should attend the Opportunities Fair ready to impress and if students do not have a business appropriate outfit, the Career Closet will be open beforehand with free professional attire for college students to "look the part" at the fair where their future may very well begin.
Lastly, prepare to cross off your cards and support amazing performances because Drag Bingo is back! On Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM in the Guidrey Center, Dean Activities Board and Queer Pride Alliance will host an exciting night. Get ready for fantastic drag kings and queens to wow you with great performances and take a chance at winning some great prizes in between bingo rounds. All students 21 and over can purchase alcoholic beverages, so bring your ID and Dean ID with you too! We hope to see you there for a fun evening!
