Field Hockey Prevails 3-1 over Eastern Connecticut State
FRANKLIN, Mass. - A trio of goal scorers helped lift the Bulldogs over the Warriors to continue their undefeated season.
Dean College (3-0) wasted almost no time finding the back of the goal in this game. First year, Hailey Lamping scored her second goal of the season a little over six minutes into the first quarter.
Emily Yazzetti started the dash towards the attacking circle, weaving in and out of defenders. Emily Kilpatrick then received the pass and assisted Lamping for the first points of the game.
Eastern Connecticut State (1-2) would pepper the net three more times before the quarter ended but was not able to find the equalizing goal.
Coming into the second quarter, the first action resulted in the tying goal from the Warriors. Then just six minutes in, Reagan Grecula took a deep shot of her own that rebounded off goalkeeper Sara Gardner, but Ada Ellis jumped on the rebound and snuck it past Gardner's leg pads.

However, Dean would not back down after giving up a goal. Just over a minute later, Yazzetti became the first player in Dean Field Hockey history to record 100 points in her career, and she did it in just over two seasons with the team.
Yazzetti, when asked about the feat, stated, "It feels great, just to do it in less than three years; it feels really good."
After multiple shots on goal from Dean in a short amount of time, the junior captain took the ball off a stoppage in the game and laced a back handed shot into the top right corner of the net.
The half would end with the Bulldogs ahead 2-1, with no other opportunities for either team to score.
The third quarter tested both goalkeepers, with four shots from Dean and two shots from Eastern Connecticut late in the quarter. Both goalies and defenses stood their ground, keeping a one-score game with the Bulldogs on top.
In the fourth, Kilpatrick quickly notched an insurance goal for the Bulldogs, putting them up by two goals with only 14 minutes left in the game. This goal came off a corner, with the insert from Blair. Yazzetti received the insert and put the ball into play before pinballing off multiple sticks and eventually tipping off Kilpatrick's and past the opposing
goalkeeper, Kate Paradise.
Junior defender, Blair expressed after the game, "I think that we connected like a team should against Eastern Connecticut. We communicated throughout each line and responded to each other with grit and determination to win the game."
The Bulldogs held onto the lead for the remainder of the quarter and picked up their third win of the season, staying undefeated. The defending GNAC Champions will continue their season on Saturday at home against Mount Holyoke College at noon.
