FRANKLIN – The Dean College men’s basketball team fell to the Regis College Pride 69-66 Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play.

Aamyr Sullivan paced the Pride offense, leading all scorers with 21 points.

Dean and Regis battled throughout, trading baskets early. In the first half, Christian Yeates helped get the Bulldogs on the board with an early three-pointer and a couple of inside buckets. Xavier Boyd also found his rhythm close to the rim, converting four field goals for eight first-half points, and Randy Vasquez chipped in several buckets.

Regis countered with efficient scoring of their own. Sullivan hit from downtown and in the paint, while Jahkai Veal added a pair of scores inside. Jeffrey Herbin knocked down shots of his own from beyond the arc, and Tyrone Chinn also contributed double figures.

In the second half, the contest remained tight with multiple lead changes. Yeates continued to attack, finishing with adding to what eventually was a team high 14 points, and Boyd kept Dean within striking distance with timely scoring in the lane. Donnary Fontenot also made crucial plays down the stretch including an and-one play, along with a two-point jump shot.

Despite Dean’s efforts, Regis made key plays late. Sullivan knocked down big shots down the stretch, and the Pride’s balanced attack forced crucial turnovers. Regis pulled ahead in the final minutes and

held on for the three-point win.

The loss dropped Dean College to 15-10. Their season has now ended after a 92-79 loss to St. Joe's Connecticut in the GNAC semifinals.
