Dean College men’s soccer is for those who enjoy the dramatic, pulling off a
gutsy 3-2 victory over Elms College at home Tuesday evening.
Down 2-1 early in the second half, the Bulldogs stormed back with goals by
Sophomore, Ethan Henderson, and First-Year, John Pordage, with Pordage burying the
game-winner with roughly 12 minutes remaining in the contest. Pordage, the Wayland
High School graduate, scored his first career goal in a Bulldogs uniform, giving the
Bulldogs their fifth win of the season and their third win in the last four.
As for Dean College Senior goalkeeper, Jake Godwin, he continues to have a
strong season. After recording his second straight shutout last Friday against Lasell,
earning him GNAC goalkeeper of the week honors, he recorded 6 saves Tuesday,
earning his fourth win of the season, setting a career high.
Godwin’s dominance in goal is just the start of the Bulldogs' mid-season surge.
Fresh off his Bulldog of the Week award, Sophomore, Clay Tyler, continued his
dominant stretch, recording an assist on the Henderson goal that tied the match 2-2.
Tyler has now recorded points in back-to-back games after his 2-goal performance this
past Friday against Lasell.
Dean College will hit the road this Saturday against Regis College at 1:00 PM
and will return to Longley Athletic Complex after a 2-game road trip to take on Albertus
Magnus College on Tuesday, October 21.
