Growing Beyond the Grades: Taking Care of Yourself Before Midterms

With midterms coming up, it can be especially easy to focus on nothing but studying, assignments, and working to get the best grades you can get. But college is about more than just your academic goals. Holistic growth means taking care of yourself as a whole person, your mind, body, emotions, romantic relationships, friendships, and personal growth.
Before midterms, it is important to give yourself time to rest, connect with friends, move your body, and do things that make you happy. Taking care of yourself does not mean you are taking time away from being a successful student here at Dean College. It can actually help you feel more level-headed and prepared for your exams if you take the time to make sure your body and mind are prepared as well. Whether that’s taking a power nap or treating yourself to a fun drink at the Beanery to get in the right mindset, I guarantee you will do better on your exams.
Midterms can be stressful, but they are only one part of your college experience. Remember to give yourself the same patience and support that you would give to someone else in your shoes.
