Tuesday’s match saw two Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foes face off in a defensive battle which Dean ended up winning 2-1. Dean moves to 9-6 (5-1 GNAC), while the Blue Jays fall to 7-6 (3-3 GNAC).
After a wild start to the game, the Blue Jays would get the first goal on the board less than 90 seconds into the game. Grace Kociszewski of the Blue Jays had a solo fastbreak opportunity and ended up colliding with goalkeeper Sara Gardner. This resulted in a penalty shot for the Blue Jays, and it was Ariana Komonaj taking and making the early shot for the Blue Jays putting them up 1-0 early.
The Blue Jays stayed in the offensive zone most of the first quarter with multiple corner shots and outscored the Bulldogs 4-2 in the first quarter. Katrina Lee and Jadyn Crowell ended up getting shots on goal late in the first, but both were saved by junior netminder of the Blue Jays, Jaci Felix-Hull.
The second quarter saw more of the same from both sides. The Blue Jays would force another penalty shot which was unsuccessful. As the Bulldogs started to get into a rhythm, Senior captain Sydnee Ramos took multiple shots in the second, both unsuccessful.
Coming out of the half, Emily Yazzetti got an open look on net and scored early on, but the goal was called back due to illegal shot height. At the end of the third quarter, the Blue Jays got multiple good looks on goal of which the Bulldog defenders stood tall keeping the ball out of the net on three straight shots. Sara Gardner along with Shea Cassani and Kelsey Blair stood tall in net to keep it a 1-0 game.

Not until the GNAC assist and goal leaders teamed up with an incredible play finished in a goal. In the 43rd minute of the game, Emily Yazzetti was juggling the ball down the field, speeding past Blue Jay defenders and passing up field to Sydnee Ramos, who got a great look at the net and scored.
Now all tied going into the fourth quarter of play, the Bulldogs had lots of momentum. The Bulldogs forced pressure early on in the fourth, staying on their offensive zone for a majority of the quarter. Then, Emily Yazzetti got an open look at the crowded net and shot, the ball was tipped by Katrina Lee and went in the top left corner of the net to put the Bulldogs on top 2-1.
With just a little over 13 minutes to play, all the Bulldogs had to do was stay strong defensively. Kelsey Blair and Sara Gardner continued to display incredible defensive abilities in the fourth, ultimately holding the Blue Jays off winning this one with a final of 2-1.
Bulldogs continue their hot stretch with their third straight win and third straight GNAC win, outscoring opponents 17-1 in that span, moving them to 9-6 (5-1) on the season.
