Dean College is proud to highlight senior Emma Mock, a dedicated member of the Bulldogs field hockey program whose impact on and off the field has shaped the team’s culture and spirit over the past four years.
For Emma, one memory stands above the rest: the team’s ropes course during her freshman year bonding trip. “That was definitely a memorable experience,” she said, recalling the laughter, challenges, and early signs of the sisterhood she would grow to love. It was a moment that set the tone for her entire Bulldog journey.

Throughout her time at Dean, Emma discovered not only her strengths as an athlete but also her ability to push through difficult moments. “This program taught me how to persevere and not let a tough time define me,” she shared. Her resilience has become one of her hallmarks, inspiring teammates who have watched her battle adversity with determination.
When asked what advice she’d give younger players, Emma kept it simple: Embrace every moment. Whether it’s the early morning practices, long bus rides, or the unforgettable wins, she encourages new Bulldogs to appreciate the little things and trust the process. “Lean on your teammates,” she said. “They become your family here.”

When reflecting on the people who shaped her journey the most, Emma didn’t hesitate to credit Dean’s athletic training staff. “I had faced many setbacks that they helped me overcome,” she said. Their constant support not only lifted her through injuries but also inspired her career path.
Looking ahead, Emma’s passion for athletics will continue well beyond her time as a student-athlete. She plans to attend graduate school and pursue a career as an athletic trainer a natural step for someone who has spent years immersed in sports and supporting others. “That will keep me in the field of athletics, working with future collegiate athletes,” she explained.
As Emma Mock prepares to graduate, she leaves behind a legacy of resilience, leadership, and heart. The Dean community celebrates her accomplishments and looks forward to seeing the impact she’ll make in the world of athletics.
