The best team in the women’s basketball Great Northeast Athletic Conference, Emmanuel College Saints, traveled from Boston to Franklin and defeated the Bulldogs 103-63. Five double digit scorers for the Saints and eleven team three-pointers were enough to get the Saints the win and move them to 16-6 on the season, while the Bulldogs fell to 7-15.
After one quarter, the Saints led 26-15, and in the second, the Saints took off and led the quarter 30-9, making it 56-24 at half. Emmanuel is of the best offensive teams in the GNAC, scoring-wise. The Bulldogs did not hit a three-point shot after one half of play.
In the second half, the Bulldogs started to get things clicking, scoring eighteen points in the 3rd quarter and twenty-one in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs also converted four three-point shots in the second half. Junior Azaria Landry hit two threes, and Kendrah Doane, as well as Senior Abigail Lacy, connected on one three-point shot.
The top-ranked Saints showed that they were much taller than the Bulldogs with forty-eight total team rebounds and nineteen total second-chance points.
They were led by their legendary head coach, Andy Yosinoff, who is in his 49th season coaching the Saints. Yosinoff has won eighteen GNAC championships in his tenure and is 8th all-time in NCAA women’s basketball coaching wins, now with 930 total wins.
Prior to the season, The Dean Daily had the chance to speak with Junior Jordan Ellis and Freshman Kenzie Sherburne. Ellis said, “We're being supportive of one another, keeping that family together, whether we're away or home”. Sherburne said, “We need to get on the same page. Something we’re definitely working on in and outside of practice”.

One of the biggest takeaways from those media day interviews was how much the players talked about the way Coach Megan Dixon preaches about family. It was evident in their loss to the Saints as the team was giving 100% the entire game and never backed down for their teammates.
With such a short roster, it is a coach's dream to have such a close-knit team that the Bulldogs and Coach Dixon have built this season.
The top performers for the Bulldogs in the loss to the Saints were Senior Abigail Lacy with 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals. Also, Junior Azaria Landry tallied 18 points for the game, and Junior Kendrah Doane tallied 10 points along with 6 rebounds.
The Bulldogs' next game is this Saturday, as the Bulldogs are on the road and travel to Chicopee to take on Elms College at 3:00 PM.
