On Monday, the Dean’s women’s lacrosse team defeated a GNAC rival in the Mitchell Mariners 9-6 at home. And on Wednesday, another GNAC foe in Albertus Magnus came to town. In what was a scoring onslaught from both sides, it ended up going the Bulldogs way, with a final score of 13-10.
The Bulldogs came out the gate firing on all cylinders. Opening up with a 3-0 lead with 7:13 remaining in the opening quarter. This fast start ties directly with what The Dean Daily had the privilege to ask first year Bulldogs head coach Kaitlyn Daly pre-game, asking how can the team keep the momentum going from Monday’s win?
Coach Daly said, “We highlight what they do well in that game; three freshmen scored, and everyone else on the team played fantastic”. Also adding, “We got the scout ready to go; they know what they have to do and what plays to run and how to break down their defense."

The three freshmen who contributed to the scoring efforts in Monday’s win were Ali Murphy, Ailey Pequita, and Bella McQuade who tallied 4 goals on Monday.
Continuing with Wednesday’s game, the Falcons called a timeout after being down 3-0 early to try and get things back under control. And they did just that going on a 4-0 run following the timeout. Going into halftime, the Falcons led the Bulldogs 6-5.
For the Bulldogs, they knew this was going to be a tough game. Especially after playing 3 games a week for the last 2 weeks, it has been a very draining back half of the season for the Bulldogs. However, Coach Daly said “Going into it knowing it’s going to be a tough, physical game. That gets them amped up even more."

Coming out of the halftime break, the Bulldogs were definitely amped up. Going on 3-0 run to start the second half, Sophomore Amelia French contributed a goal, which was her first career collegiate goal.
The 3-0 run was quickly halted by the Falcons and Julianna Montano, who scored for the away team making it an 8-7 Bulldog lead. However, the tide would change quickly once again as within a 25 second span, there was a double-A attack with Ali Murphy and Allie Stockwell both scoring in stylish fashion.
The score was now 10-7 going into the final quarter of play. The Falcons quickly put 2 on the board to make it a one-goal game. Now in crunch time, the Bulldogs needed to rely on their playmakers to make some magic happen. Junior Caroline Ramsey provided the late game magic the Bulldogs needed, providing 2 dagger fourth quarter goals to put the icing on the cake for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs were victorious 13-10 over Albertus Magnus and improved to 3-9 on the season.
For the Bulldogs that is now back-to-back GNAC wins, and back-to-back FOUR goal games for freshmen Bella McQuade. Junior goalkeeper Shea Cassani also had 12 saves in the win. The Bulldogs next game is at home once again as the Emmanuel College Saints will be in town on Saturday with the opening faceoff at 12 PM.
